title: /logging settings
description: Set up log channels and choose which events get logged.
---
## Overview

`/logging settings` opens an interactive dashboard for choosing where BetterAntiSpam sends logs and which of 17 event categories are logged.

## Required Permissions

- **Administrator** (or the server owner, or a user/role added to the command allowlist through the Access page).

## Subcommands

### settings

No options. Running the command opens a dashboard with an Overview, a page per log category, and an Access page.

## Dashboard settings

The dashboard is split into an overview, one page per log category, and an access page.

### Overview page

- Set a main log channel. BetterAntiSpam creates a private log channel automatically if you turn logging on without picking one.
- Set a separate channel for moderation cases.
- Toggle protection against the log channel's own messages being deleted.
- Turn every category on or off at once.
- **Reset all**: turns every category back on and clears the "protect log" toggle, without clearing any channel you've already set.

### Log categories

Each of the following can be turned on or off individually, and given its own channel (falling back to the main log channel if none is set): anti-spam, anti-nuke, moderation, messages, roles, channels, verification, joins, commands, voice, invites, server, emojis, threads, config, quarantine, and auto-purge. All default to on.

The moderation category has an extra toggle for whether manually-run kicks (not just automatic ones) are logged.

### Access page

Add roles or users who can manage logging settings without needing Administrator.

## Behavior

- Logs only send once a main log channel is set, or a category has its own channel.
- Picking a channel for a disabled category prompts you to turn that category on.
- Changing the main log channel or case channel automatically hides those channels from the verified member role, keeping logs staff-only.
